On June 28, Salesforce rolled out its beta version of Salesforce DX; a new Salesforce developer experience that mirrors traditional, source-driven development lifecycles. Salesforce DX enables development work to be done on separate branches and then merged into a master branch as the project progresses. Previous development efforts in Salesforce Sandboxes followed a different path. All development work was completed in the Sandbox and then, ideally, deployed to a separate “integration Sandbox.” The process could get a little sticky and made it difficult to share development work for peer reviews and testing.
